Chersonissos
Chersonissos is a town in the north of Crete, about 25 kilometers east of Heraklion and west of Agios Nikolaos. What is usually called Chersonissos is in fact its peninsula and harbour.
Chersonissos is probably the most tourism-oriented town of the island. Many hotels, the famous Star Beach with its slides, bars, pools, games, bungy jumping, go-karts etc, create an atmosphere like that of a day time club. There is also a lot to do for children.
In the main street, several souvenir shops are available, as well as other shops and restaurants. The bustling night life includes many discos, clubs, bars and pubs.
