Nationwide strike Friday and Saturday
A nationwide 48-hour strike on Friday and Saturday (February 10-11) was called on Thursday by Greece's two main umbrella federations GSEE and ADEDY, representing the private and public sectors respectively, in protest of the new memorandum agreed with the troika.
Protest demonstrations will also be held throughout the two days, as well as a main rally on Sunday in Athens' central Syntagma Square.
Athens transport strikes
Busses, metro and trolley services will be on strike from Friday 5am till Sunday 5am.
The Electronic railway (Isap) will have a limited service on both days between 10am and 5pm. (AMNA/Athens News)
Thessaloniki
The Thessaloniki city bus organisation (OASTH) employees will participate in the 48-hour strike action with work stoppages. Buses will run from 8.am until 9pm.
